paper.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have LOVED sending and receiving mail.  In fourth grade, my school paired us up with pen pals on the West Coast and I loved every minute of reading letters from my new found friend and then writing her back.  As I got older and friends moved away, I would often ask for their new address so we could write letters back and forth.  As I have met friends that I became close with but only lived near for a short period of time, I have tried to keep in touch with them through pen and ink.  It’s not easy – it can be emotional and time consuming but there’s nothing like it.  To this day, I love to sift through my stationery and then sit down and pour my heart out to a friend.  Today, I am spending some time reading a letter from a dear friend that lives in Canada and writing a few thank you notes for gifts received over the Christmas season.

Do you make time for writing letters to friends near and far?  If so, what is your favorite part about it?
